Brock Gibian, CEO, was born and raised in Ithaca, NY, and studied at the University of Vermont, focusing on Mathematics and Economics with a particular emphasis on the intersection of renewable energy policy and inequality. His professional journey began as a lobbyist in Montpelier, Vermont, where he successfully advocated for the nation's first integrated renewable energy standard and energy transformation program.
Following his advocacy work, Brock transitioned into research, working for the State of Vermont contributing and writing the State’s Comprehensive Energy Plan for 2050, specializing in renewable resources, financing, and electric vehicles and the non-profit sectors on carbon pollution taxes and net-metering redesigns. In 2016, he joined a startup in Brooklyn, NY, playing a pivotal role in growing the company into a leader in solar PV and battery storage across 12 states, the U.S., and the Caribbean, with a focus on non-profits, affordable housing, REITs and municipalities. His notable accomplishments include building an internal lobbying team to advocate for favorable solar and interconnection policies locally, statewide and nationally as well as building the largest solar PV system for a public housing authority in the U.S.
With a wealth of experience in every stage of development, from origination to M&A to asset management, Brock founded Golden Energetics after the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) to enable traditionally underserved entities to participate in the renewable energy transition.
Outside of work, Brock is an active biker, kayaker, hiker, and gardener. His volunteer work includes serving as the President of the Ithaca Children's Garden Board of Directors, contributing to the mission of inspiring youth and community stewardship of the natural environment through garden-based learning and discovery. Brock resides in Ithaca, NY and Brooklyn, NY.
